So my Grandma Nielsen had to go in for surgery today on the right side of her face to remove a tumor! The surgery was 3-4 hours long, but luckily the tumor was benign so they won't need to do anymore surgery on that. But when they first found the tumor and did a CT scan on it they also saw that her thyroid gland is growing around her esophagus, so she'll have to go in again in about 3-6 months to have that operated on as well. Poor Grandma! But her surgery did go well today and at least she'll have plenty of time to heal before going to visit my aunt in Georgia. She's spending the night in the hospital and I'm going to go and visit her tomorrow, but please keep my Grandma in your prayers for her speedy recovery and for her next surgery when it comes time for that.

On another note, i couldn't help but notice the couch she is sitting on. We had that same fabric on our couches growing up. I've been seeing it a lot lately. Weird.
Oh my goodness. Glad this surgery went well and hopefully so will the next one. Aren't grandmas the greatest.
