The Results Are In!

Jon and I are having a cute little baby GIRL!!! I'm so excited! And no, there are no surprise twins in there and no (this is for Jon's friend Brian), there's no mistaking it, she's definitely a girl. ;) Although a boy would have been easier - seeing as how we actually agree on a lot of the boy names I like - but still! A girl! I've had a couple of very vivid dreams about a baby girl a couple of times over the last few months, and even though people told me to ignore them, they were so real that I actually woke up and cried one morning because I missed her after holding her in my dream. It was very odd, but still. I'm not completely crazy, because now I have a daughter on the way! That's still weird to say, but Jon and I couldn't be happier with our healthy and happy baby girl!

If you're wondering if we have any names or what not, then no. We haven't been able to agree on any yet, so if you have suggestions go ahead and throw them out there. (But don't be offended if we don't use them either, because we probably just don't agree on it, it's happened with every one of my ideas!) :)

For those of you who guessed right - good job! Your prize is that you can help us with our nursery! It's covered in really old ugly wallpaper (I'm hoping just one layer this time), so we'll need to take that down first and then you can paint. For those of you who guessed wrong - your punishment is helping us with our nursery and peeling off really old ugly wallpaper. ;) I think that seems like a pretty good deal! Ha ha, just kidding. Thanks for playing guys, we'll keep you updated!

(Oh, and they pushed the due date back to December 26. Ugh, wish us luck on an early delivery!)

Fun With My Family

Beginning of 19 weeks

Here I am, counting down until my appointment with nothing to do. I'm too excited to sleep anymore, so I decided to publish this post that I started working on a few days ago and add my anxieties about discovering the sex of the wiggler. Also, I thought it was time for a real baby bump picture! (The last one was real, but I'll admit it ws barely noticeable!). Anyway, enjoy!

So this last weekend we celebrated my sister's birthday (who just turned 25 last Wednesday!) by going to 7 Peaks! It was so fun to have my family there as well as Phil's sisters and a couple of his friends, plus it was just fun to go out and do something that I haven't done in a long time! (Honestly, I haven't been swimming at a water park for years!) Unfortunately, me being aweful at remembering to take pictures, I didn't remember until a lot of us were tired out, so most of the pictures are of us sitting around warming ourselves in the sun (except my mom, who was trying to protect her sunburn) :)

This is me and Jon floating around in the lazy river. The slides made me sick and dizzy, so I spent a lot of the day here, and Jon went on so many slides that he needed to relax as well. (Notice me cleverly hide my baby bump with Jon's leg. Bwa ha ha!)

Jeffrey and my Mom. (I made Jeffrey sit like that so he didn't cover up my mom)

Baby Brother Brian (he says that he always poses like this for pictures, what a goof) :)

This is the "turkey" I gave Brian - hard to see here, but it was really good! (For those who don't know what a turkey is, you yell out "Turkey!" and slap somone's skin with your hand and leave a handprint - it's pretty funny to do to little brothers).

Birthday girl! (I think she was trying to do a scary kung-fu pose, but started laughing)

Julie's husband Phil (I tried to get him doing a funny face, but it broke into a normal-ish smile right when I took the picture. Darn) :)

My man - (he hates pictures and always smiles as goofy as he can) He was so nice to me the whole time, he did make me go on one slide but then let me relax the rest of the day and still made sure that he came back to check on me or relax with me for a bit. He was very sweet. :)

Me and Jon - exhausted after all of our fun in the sun. (Ignore my double chins)

Overall it was really really fun. We played in the water all day, and then I got really tired and sick and Jon and I had to bail around 6:30 or so (yeah, we were ONLY there for 6 hours, no big deal). :) Even with sunscreen though, I ended up getting burned all over! I'm just glad I wasn't one of the pregnant girls who wore the tiny binkini's and opted instead for a long tankini, because I don't think a giant sunburned belly sounds fun at all! :)

Alright, well I'm off to find out what my baby is now. Just as an update - the poll on the side of my blog shows that more people think we will have a boy (14:13), but word of mouth votes including people at work and all of the texts I got last night say we will have a girl (17:13), so it will be fun to see who's right. I just can't wait to stop calling my wiggler "it"! Wish us luck and cross your fingers that it's legs aren't crossed!

While We're Waiting...

So, while I'm anxiously waiting to find out whether my parasite is a girl or a boy, thought I'd remind everyone (especially family, but definitely all of my awesome friends out there too!) to vote on the poll on the right side of the page. I would also like comments because I want to know what everyone thinks, then I can congradulate the right ones! ;) No, but it is kind of a tradition for everyone to put in their ideas on what it will be before the big unveiling, so please vote and comment on this post as to what you think. You have until Wednesday, and even if you've already told me that you think it's a boy or a girl, I want you to comment again anyway because I probably forgot. :) Just 5 more days now!

Kick Kick Kick

I felt my baby kick me! Over the last 3 week sor so I've felt the "fluttering" feeling of the baby, and even though I was waiting for it to happen, and when it happened it was incredible. Well this one today was completely not what I expected. I figured I'd start to feel real kicks in a month or so, once the baby was bigger than 5 inches long. But nope, while I was sitting at my desk typing out an email to the other trainers and talking to one of them on IM, I felt a very distinct "jab"! Then another, and then another! 3 total at first and I freaked out! I was so excited! I stopped mid-sentence to what I was typing to my friend Lance (the other trainer) and said "my baby just kicked me!" Right after that it got me a few more times! I still don't think it would have been strong enough to feel from "the outside" if you will, but they were strong little jabs or kicks or whatever, and I've never felt anything even close to that before now! Holy cow I'm on such a happy high right now from it! I immediately messaged Jon (working from another building) to tell him and then I called my Mom to tell her. Of course my dad answered and asked "How's Baby Girl doing?" (remember he's convinced it's a girl) and I said that it kicked me. He was excited, but passed the phone immediately to my mom and just told her to listen to me! Ha ha, it was cute.

Anyway, I know that pretty much all of my friends are already mom's (at least the ones who read this blog) and this is all old news for you guys, but man that was exciting for me! I almost cried right here at my desk! But instead I had to finish my emails and put in some service tickets to get crap fixed, then I decided that I should put this in my blog now while I'm still excited about it. :)

Okay, so that was my news. In other news, I find out what I'm having in 2 weeks (eek!) I'll probably schedule the appointment tomorrow after my regular appointment. And something that is very exciting, I found out this morning that my friend Chelsea (Hardman) Smith just had her little girl! I think she had her yesterday, but little baby Serena (I looked on your Mom's blog for her name!) was 5lb 5oz and 18 1/2 inches long and delivered by c-section. Congrats Chels! I can't wait to see her!

Hard Squish?

First of all, thanks everyone for your input on whether I'm baby bumping or squishing out. After reading a bunch of comments I noticed that if I tried to pull all of the squish on top of the bump away then my stomach was still pretty flat, it's just that the bump that only I can see was pushing the squish to the front. That was on Friday. This week though, in the last 2 days I seem to have gotten larger suddenly. Monday I was teaching my class wearing one of my flowy-fatty shirts that normally makes me look skinnier than normal, and while I was teaching one of the girls in my class says "You know you can really see your baby bump in that shirt!". I wasn't sure whether or not to be offended, so I joked it off that my stomach was not the reason people get Searching for Satellite Signal on their television, concentrated more on sucking in my gut and moved on.

Of course after that comment all I could think of was that my stupid belly is poking out and it's not even a baby doing it. Then I realized that I couldn't suck in very much because it was either extremely uncomfortable or impossible to a point. Then poking my stomach it was very hard. We'd just had lunch, so I dismissed it. Today however, it could just be my imagination but I swear it was bigger when I woke up before I ate anything. I also noticed it was harder to poke, and it was harder for me to suck in. Thinking I was crazy again I had Jon poke my belly and he was shocked at how hard it felt and is convinced it's a baby bump. So yeah, after convincing myself that I was just getting chunky, now I'm convinced it's a genuine bump. There's still a layer of squish on top, but that's nothing compared to the rest of it. Since everyone else said that they didn't start showing until the end of 4 months or during their 5th month, I'm not sure if I'm happy or upset by it, but I'm positive this time that it's not just me, even though I'm only 14 weeks...hmmm...
On a lighter note, we get to find out what we're having in 5 weeks! The doctor said that he always waits until 19 weeks so it's easier to tell, so I just have 5 weeks left. Yay!
