Rain

So here I am sulking a bit because Jon and I are working different shifts. It sucks. Do I like working morning shifts? Heck yes! But do I like the fact that when I leave in the morning Jon is still asleep and when he comes home at night I'm asleep? No. Do I like that I only see him for 15-20 minutes a day as I'm finishing and he's beginning work? No. But, as is life, as I was sulking about this I decided to log onto my facebook account and see how my friends were doing. It got me laughing at some funny pictures and smiling at some of the comments made, until I saw one of my friends from high school with a lot of comments saying, "I'm so sorry for your loss, we have you in our prayers". So I start to wonder, what is this loss? Well, I looked at her brothers page, and there's nothing there. I go to her sisters page, and she has a message stating that their dad had died yesterday. Having been friends with this family for a while, even dating said brother for a short time, and having lived just around the corner from them in the same ward, I immediately started crying. I also immediately felt very foolish for feeling bad about myself because I don't see my husband as much as I used to. It's funny how when we stress about contrite things like that you are almost always put in your place in one way or another. Anyway, I don't think that anyone from their family reads my blogs, but if someone does please include the Pack family in your prayers. Brother Pack was a great teacher, beautiful violinist and singer, great musician all around, and genuinly a nice guy, and his family shows what a great man he was. Please please please include them in your prayers.

Julie and Phillip McGee!

So finally I got off my lazy butt and decided to put these pictures on here! So Julie got married on June 5, 2008 in the Bountiful Temple. It was a perfect day, not too hot but not too cold, and decent cloud cover for most of the pictures. They had their reception in Clearfield, and I absolutely LOVE the decorations!:) It was absolutely beautiful for anyone who couldn't be there. Anyway, enough with the intro, here's the picture! (Sorry mine aren't the best, I'm not good with a camera so pretty much all of the ones I took didn't turn out good, most of these are the ones Jon took) :)

This is when he was "trying to get away"

I LOVE her train!

Me in some awesome aviators that I picked out for Baby Brother Jeffrey. Yeah, I know, I can barely contain the hotness that is in these glasses. ;)

Our cute family! (Minus Baby Brother Brian - he doesn't come home from his mission until next year.)

All of Julie's "Sisters" (I'm still the favorite of course, even if the others are a bunch of Russian models...)

We call him "The Dad"

Isn't growing up fun? ;)

Stick 'em up!

After the wedding in the afternoon, they had a ring ceremony before the reception.

My little cousin Zane was the ring bearer - isn't he so cute! Behind him (ignoring the camera) is his little sister Gracie. They're so darn cute!

And, of course, the cake! Mmmmm!

Last, but not least, here's Zane's little goodbye message to Julie.

(In order to hear him, scroll to the bottom of this page and pause the playlist)

Well, that's all, hope you liked it! Be sure to comment!

Poor Poor Puppy

So on Saturday Jon and I went to a barbaque with some friends. We had a lot of fun, but when we got back, we noticed that Molly was wimpering a lot. Some of our neighbors were shooting fireworks, so we thought she was just afraid of those. Later that night, I noticed that her eye was swollen and icky and stuck shut! Well, it was midnight, so I decided I would look at it in the morning when I could give her a bath and rinse her eye off good.

We get home from church on Sunday, and after washing Molly off and getting her eye to open a little, I see something big and green in it! I quickly found out that it was a fox-tail burr! I tried to pull it out, but it had attached itself to the inside of her top eyelid! Poor girl! Everytime she rubbed it she would yelp. Anyway, I figured that it would probably do more damage for me to pull it out, so I found a few vets that are open on Sundays and called around. I got ahold of three of them, and they all agreed that it was imperative to get the burr out right away or risk her eye getting more infected and possibly going blind or losing her eye all together! So while Jon and his parents were fixing our water softener (it had started leaking over the weekend too, of course!) I rushed Molly over to the Pet Care Center in Taylorsville/Murray area. They rushed her back there and ($216 later!) we were able to get the burr out of her eye and give me some meds to take home with her. So now she has to wear a funny little collar so she won't scratch her eye and make it worse. At first, she just stood there and wouldn't move, but finally today (Tuesday) she even went up the porch stairs! She's doing lots better now, and as long as we keep the meds in her she's not in any pain. Here's some pictures of her:

She's so depressed, this is right after I brought her home.

Three favorite books:
Hmmm, let’s do three favorite series:

-I can train a class like nobodies business!
-I can play the piano (if I had one I would be better)

Three things you might not guess about me:
-I have double jointed elbows, hips, toes and thumbs
-I love acting, and always wanted to be a famous actress, which is why I watch the E! True Hollywood Stories all the time.
-I love cleaning small corners and scrubbing between tiles and stuff – mostly detail cleaning, but I hate bulk cleaning and laundry.

Three things I am looking forward to this year:
Hard one. I don’t really have anything coming up. Well, these can be wishes too, right?
-Time off at the end of July with Jon, that will be fun
-I would look forward to starting a family this year, but it probably won’t happen
-By this time next year I’ll be excited about Jon finishing his generals and going to Pharmacy school! But that’s next year.

Well, not too exciting, but there it is! (BTW, I stole this from Jen, hers is much more exciting.) J

Rainy Days

So I've been reading a lot lately, which is great because I used to read all of the time and over the last few years I'd just kind of stopped. Well, I used to read because I had no friends, and I guess that marriage does give you a friend for all hours of the night and day, so I just haven't had the need for books as much. :) In any case, when I got married, really the only books I was reading were Harry Potter and Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites (by Chris Heimerdinger - AWESOME books, go check them out!). Earlier this year though, I was introduced to Twilight and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE these books! If you haven't read them yet, go get them and read them! Sadly though, there were only three (until August 2nd, then I get my fourth one, yay!) so a fried of mine from work introduced me to The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. I wasn't sure how I'd like it. It's about a wizard who works out of Chicago and actually advertises himself as a professional wizard. Didn't really catch my attention at first, but holy cow! I love these books! You do have to keep in mind that this is adult fiction so there is swearing in it, so if you get offended by swearing then you probably should read it. I for one though absolutely love them! He is hilarious! Plus the characters in these books are all very real, to the point that you could see this actually happening. Definitely a series I'd recommend. Not cheesy like Harry Potter (which I also love), but realistic, sarcastic, hilarious, intense, nerve-racking, everything a good book should be. So far I've read up until book 7, and I'm just waiting for 8, 9 and 10 from my friend. In the meantime though, I'm FINALLY getting around to reading Angels and Demons. I read The Da Vinci Code 2 years ago on my honeymoon, and I've been dying to read Angels and Demons that whole time. Well, hopefully I can start and finish this weekend so I can finish the Dresden Files. Then hopefully I can stretch out the Dresden Files long enough to hold me over until Breaking Dawn comes out. Oh I can't wait! Jon hates me reading because I tend to forget about housework and stuff - so the laundry piles up a bit before I do it and the dishes are a disaster, but I can't help it! I love getting into a good book. Anyway, it was just on my mind and since there's nothing else in my life that's exciting right now, it's all I have to talk about! ;) Oh, on my next post I'll put up pictures from my sister Julie's wedding. Look forward to that! Well, until the next time that I'm extremely bored or if something other than work and housework ever happens! :)
