2 Years Already?!?

In commemoration of our anniversary, I thought I would do this little quiz thingy! Yay!

...All about us!

WHAT'S HIS/HER NAME? Jonathan David Hunter

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN MARRIED? Two years and three days as of now.

HOW LONG DID YOU DATE? We dated for 8 months - Met on March 19, 2005 and got engaged on November 5, 2005. Then it was another 6 months until we were married on May 13, 2006. Funny, since I had previously sworn never to marry someone I didn't know for at least 4 years... Funny how things work out! :)

WHO SAID "I LOVE YOU" FIRST? It was kind of a tie. I sort of insinuated it in my journal, which Jon that was so fun to read, and the day I moved to Salt Lake (three months after meeting) he read that I said that I thought that I might care for him more than he cared for me, and then right before he told me, my roommate decided to make friends and totally ruined his momentum. I eventually pushed it out of him though. So if you ask him, I said it first, but I still think it was him.

WHO SINGS BETTER? Hmmm...good question. A tie maybe?

WHO'S SMARTER? Jon thinks he is because I'm not going to school at the moment, but he's got book smarts, while I am a whiz at Superman, band, music, and random facts that don't do any good. Like knowing that all calico cats have to be female because it's impossible to have a male calico based on the genetic set up. Or that whaling is illegal in Utah. Yeah, pointless. :)

WHO PAYS THE BILLS? Jon does - I'm TERRIBLE with money! He's really good with money and saving though, so I just hand it over to him.

WHO SLEEPS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BED? Looking from the foot of the bed or laying down in it? Laying in it, I'm usually on the right, however since the last few weeks I've been working morning shifts at work and getting up before Jon, I've switched sides so that I can get the alarm and wake up without crawling over him. So we trade.

WHO MOWS THE LAWN? Jon usually does because over the last few year's I've acquired allergies.

WHO COOKS DINNER? Normally it's me - although I'm limited to boxed dinners. Jon does the creative stuff - and he cooks a fillet minion perfectly!

WHO DRIVES? Jon - I usually put on my makeup as we leave. Saves time.

WHO'S MORE STUBBORN? Ha ha, that's a toss up! Most would say that it's Jon, but I just have a different, less aggressive way of being stubborn, and I usually get my way. :)

WHO KISSED WHO FIRST? Jon did. *Hee hee* :)

WHO ASKED WHO OUT FIRST? Neither - his cousin Melissa set us up on a blind date because I was bitter. However, after spending the weekend with him and Melissa, I'm the one that gave him my number and looked him hard in the eyes when I told him to call me. It was obvious, but it worked!

WHO PROPOSED? Jon did, and it was super cute!

WHO HAS MORE SIBLINGS? Jon does. He has an older brother and sister, a twin brother (technically younger), and a younger sister, totalling 5. I have an older sister and two younger brothers totalling 4.

WHO WEARS THE PANTS? LOL, Jon thinks he does, but if you look at our house, I chose the carpet, the wood floors, the paint colors (the wall that he chose the color to got repainted my color), the countertops...yeah, I definitely wear the pants. But I help him feel manly by letting him paint my car. ;)

Well, that was fun. Until next time!

The Sweetest Things...

Hooray! I've made it to my 2 year anniversary! I can't believe Jon and I have been married for a full 2 years! Since mostly I'm just ranting and raving about different things on here, I thought for once I would actually post something that most bloggers do - an update on what's happening in life! So here's what the last 2 years have been like:

2006 - After getting married on May 13 and having an amazing honeymoon in Southern California and on our Catalina Island - Ensanada Mexico cruise, we came home and closed on our house. Because it was a HUD home, (meaning it was seized by the government from the last owners), my in-laws were kind enough to let us crash in their basement for the first three months of our marriage until we fixed our house up enough to where we could ilve in it. (It was in pretty bad shape). It's a cute little split entry with four rooms and 1 1/2 baths, along with a beautiful dining room - I think it's my favorite feature! It took us three months to fix it up to where we could live in it, and after repainting and reflooring everything (I love my wood floors!) we were finally able to move in. Here's some of the before shots (I have yet to take the after shots)

Here's the front of the house:

Here's our "Wall of Broken Mirrors" (I know, very original! We basically had to rebuild the whole wall after we got all the mirrors off!)

Now, we can't forget the chicken coop! (That was so fun to tear down!)

And last, but not least, the lovely carpet!

We had a lot of adventures the last 2 years. Here's what life has for us now:

It's a cute little split entry with four rooms and 1 1/2 baths, along with a beautiful dining room - I think it's my favorite feature! It took us three months to fix it up to where we could live in it, and after repainting and reflooring everything (I love my wood floors!) we were finally able to move in.

That fall I was promoted to a training position at work, so both Jon and I are training now, and we usually work the same shift, which is great! We've even trained classes together, but we pretend that we're not married and it makes it kind of fun. When the classes find out they're always shocked! :)

My sister got out of the Marines that same summer, and luckily she had made it to my wedding as well! (She had been in Iraq a few months before, so we weren't sure if she would make it in time! She did.)

The first year went by fast. Jon and I spent a lot of time fishing, which was so fun! We went snowboarding right around my 21st birthday and it totally kicked my butt! Other than that it was mostly working and just getting used to life with Jon. We ate our wedding cake on our one year anniversary, and I can tell you that I packed that thing away so well that it still tasted good!

After our 1 year anniversary, Jon and I went on our first official vacation. We spent a week in Bear Lake just fishing and camping and hiking and golfing (okay well he golfed, I got sunburned and sore hands). It was so much fun! The week after we went up to Yellowstone with my family. It was the first vacation my sister had gone on since getting out of the Marines, and the last one for my little brother Brian before he left on his mission. It was so much fun! Jon and Brian fished the whole time, and me and my sister almost cannooed our way into a bull moose! Scary!

After that it was back to working and getting Jon through school. Hopefully he'll be done with the pre-requisites and can get into Pharmacy school next year. After that not a whole lot has happened - we've just been working, fishing, schooling, and living and having as much fun as we can! To end this up, here's 10 reasons why I love Jon so much:

1. I love how he talks in his sleep and can have entire conversations about nothing and not remember it the next day.
2. I love how when I get angry at something silly, he'll just look at me and start laughing and give me a hug.
3. I love when he calls me just to say hi, even if I'm just in the next room.
4. I love how he never leaves for school without waking me up to give me a kiss and tell me he loves me.
5. I love how he puts up with my crazy ideas, and even encourages them!
6. I love how he let's me reel in his fish, even if it's the only catch of the day, just to see me get excited about it.
7. I love how I can get him to skip with me at night after work when no one's awake.
8. I love how he'll still hold my hand when we're walking.
9. I love how he cries when I cry
10. I love it when he just says my name, and I can feel how much he really loves me.

Well, that's all for now! :)

Email Threats

So, I really really really hate emails that tell me that I have to forward it to a million of my friends or else suffer the wrath of some unknown force that will destroy my love life forever, make me get cancer, or prove that I am not a patriot or a true christian. I HATE them! If it's a good message, I will totally send it to those that I think will benefit from it. Sometimes, I'll just chuckle to myself and leave it at that. Depends on the email and my mood. But when they threaten me at the end, I don't like that. I don't really understand why whether I forward an email or not has to determine my fate. Luckily, I DID get an excellent forwarded message that really shows my point and that I will be forwarding and that I love! Here it is:

I just want to thank all of you for your educational emails over the past year.
Thanks to you, I no longer open a public bathroom door without using a paper towel.
· I can't use the remote in a hotel room because I don't know what the last person was doing while flipping through the adult movie channels.
· I can't sit down on the hotel bedspread because I can only imagine what has happened on it since it was last washed.
· I have trouble shaking hands with someone who has been driving because the number one pass-time while driving alone is picking your nose. (Although cell phone usage may be taking the number one spot)<>
· Eating a Little Debbie sends me on a guilt trip because I can only imagine how many gallons of trans fats I have consumed over the years.
· I can't touch any woman's purse for fear she has placed it on the floor of a public bathroom. Yuck!
· I must send my special thanks to whoever sent me the one about poop in the glue on envelopes because I now have to use a wet sponge with every envelope that needs sealing.
· Also, now I have to scrub the top of every can I open for the same reason.
· I no longer have any savings because I gave it to a sick girl (Penny Brown) who is about to die in the hospital for the 1,387,258th time.
· I no longer have any money at all, but that will change once I rece ive the $15,000 that Bill Gates/Microsoft and AOL are sending me for participating in their special e-mail program.
· I no longer worry about my soul because I have 363,214 angels looking out for me, and St. Theresa's novena has granted my every wish.
· I no longer eat KFC because their chickens are actually horrible mutant freaks with no eyes or feathers.
· I no longer use cancer-causing deodorants even though I smell like a water buffalo on a hot day.
· Thanks to you, I have learned that my prayers only get answered if I forward an email to seven of my friends and make a wish within five minutes.
· Because of your concern I no longer drink Coca Cola because it can remove toilet stains.
· I no longer can buy gasoline without taking someone along to watch the car so a serial killer won't crawl in my back seat when I'm pumping gas.
· I no longer drink Pepsi or Dr. Pepper since the people who make these products are atheists who refuse to put 'Under God' on their cans.
· I no longer use Saran wrap in the microwave because it causes cancer.
· And thanks for letting me know I can't boil a cup of water in the microwave anymore because it will blow up in my face...disfiguring me for life.
· I no longer check the coin return on pay phones because I could be pricked with a needle infected with AIDS.
· I no longer go to shopping malls because someone will drug me with a perfume sample and rob me.
· I no longer receive packages from UPS or FedEx since they are actually Al Qaeda in disguise.
· I no longer shop at Target since they are French and don't support our American troops or the Salvation Army.
· I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask me to dial a number for which I will get a phone bill with calls to Jamaica, Uganda, Singapore and Uzbekistan.
· I no longer buy expensive cookies from Neiman Marcus since I now have their recipe.
· Thanks to you, I can't use anyone's toilet but mine because a big brown African spider is lurking under the seat to cause me instant death when it bites my butt.
· And thanks to your great advice, I can't ever pick up $5.00 dropped in the parking lot because it probably was placed there by a sex molester waiting underneath my car to grab my leg.
· I can no longer drive my car because I can't buy gas from certain gas companies!
· If you don't send this e-mail to at least 144,000 people in the next 70 minutes, a large dove with diarrhea will land on your head at 5:00 PM this afternoon and the fleas from 12 camels will infest your back, causing you to grow a hairy hump. I know this will occur because it actually happened to a friend of my next door neighbor's ex-mother-in-law's second husband's cousin's beautician... Have a wonderful day.... Oh, by the way..... A German scientist from Argentina, after a lengthy study, has discovered that people with insufficient brain activity read their e-mail with their hand on the mouse. Don't bother taking it off now, it's too late.

So that is my random rant for the day. I really liked that email and I think it really shows how I feel. :)

Update on Next Fireside Performance

Sorry to anyone who may have seen the last posting and was waiting for me to put in the address. The performance last Sunday went great! Not quite as many people came as we had originally anticipated, but it was still a great experience. There is another performance on the 27th of this month (this of course being April). I would love for some friends and family to come if you could. Here's the address:

Bennion Heights Stake Center
3045 W Bernina Dr (around 5837 South)
Taylorsville

I don't have a zip code, so if you mapquest it, sorry. Anyway, if you would like to come or if you'd like more information, please let me know. Thanks!

Fireside

Hey, this is to let anyone who want's to know that the fireside I've been rehearsing for is going to be next week, 4/13/2008 at 6:30pm. I can get you the address if you'd like, but I know it's in Herriman (spelling?). Like I said in my last blog, I personally have 3 lines, but even so the fireside itself is amazing. Great music, great story, great message. If you want to go but can't go on the 13th, there will be another performance on 4/27, and this will be closer to West Valley. The first performance we're having a lot of different Stake Mission people from about 4 or 5 different stakes coming, and it's expected to be a full house. The second one is expected to be a lot smaller. Anyway, if you would like to go or if you want more info, let me know.

As for Jon and I, nothing really new going on right now. Nothing is bugging me or impressing me enough to rant about, so yeah. :) Once I have something else to rant about I will. Until next time!
