The Sweetest Things...

Hooray! I've made it to my 2 year anniversary! I can't believe Jon and I have been married for a full 2 years! Since mostly I'm just ranting and raving about different things on here, I thought for once I would actually post something that most bloggers do - an update on what's happening in life! So here's what the last 2 years have been like:

2006 - After getting married on May 13 and having an amazing honeymoon in Southern California and on our Catalina Island - Ensanada Mexico cruise, we came home and closed on our house. Because it was a HUD home, (meaning it was seized by the government from the last owners), my in-laws were kind enough to let us crash in their basement for the first three months of our marriage until we fixed our house up enough to where we could ilve in it. (It was in pretty bad shape). It's a cute little split entry with four rooms and 1 1/2 baths, along with a beautiful dining room - I think it's my favorite feature! It took us three months to fix it up to where we could live in it, and after repainting and reflooring everything (I love my wood floors!) we were finally able to move in. Here's some of the before shots (I have yet to take the after shots)

Here's the front of the house:

Here's our "Wall of Broken Mirrors" (I know, very original! We basically had to rebuild the whole wall after we got all the mirrors off!)

Now, we can't forget the chicken coop! (That was so fun to tear down!)

And last, but not least, the lovely carpet!

We had a lot of adventures the last 2 years. Here's what life has for us now:

It's a cute little split entry with four rooms and 1 1/2 baths, along with a beautiful dining room - I think it's my favorite feature! It took us three months to fix it up to where we could live in it, and after repainting and reflooring everything (I love my wood floors!) we were finally able to move in.

That fall I was promoted to a training position at work, so both Jon and I are training now, and we usually work the same shift, which is great! We've even trained classes together, but we pretend that we're not married and it makes it kind of fun. When the classes find out they're always shocked! :)

My sister got out of the Marines that same summer, and luckily she had made it to my wedding as well! (She had been in Iraq a few months before, so we weren't sure if she would make it in time! She did.)

The first year went by fast. Jon and I spent a lot of time fishing, which was so fun! We went snowboarding right around my 21st birthday and it totally kicked my butt! Other than that it was mostly working and just getting used to life with Jon. We ate our wedding cake on our one year anniversary, and I can tell you that I packed that thing away so well that it still tasted good!

After our 1 year anniversary, Jon and I went on our first official vacation. We spent a week in Bear Lake just fishing and camping and hiking and golfing (okay well he golfed, I got sunburned and sore hands). It was so much fun! The week after we went up to Yellowstone with my family. It was the first vacation my sister had gone on since getting out of the Marines, and the last one for my little brother Brian before he left on his mission. It was so much fun! Jon and Brian fished the whole time, and me and my sister almost cannooed our way into a bull moose! Scary!

After that it was back to working and getting Jon through school. Hopefully he'll be done with the pre-requisites and can get into Pharmacy school next year. After that not a whole lot has happened - we've just been working, fishing, schooling, and living and having as much fun as we can! To end this up, here's 10 reasons why I love Jon so much:

1. I love how he talks in his sleep and can have entire conversations about nothing and not remember it the next day.
2. I love how when I get angry at something silly, he'll just look at me and start laughing and give me a hug.
3. I love when he calls me just to say hi, even if I'm just in the next room.
4. I love how he never leaves for school without waking me up to give me a kiss and tell me he loves me.
5. I love how he puts up with my crazy ideas, and even encourages them!
6. I love how he let's me reel in his fish, even if it's the only catch of the day, just to see me get excited about it.
7. I love how I can get him to skip with me at night after work when no one's awake.
8. I love how he'll still hold my hand when we're walking.
9. I love how he cries when I cry
10. I love it when he just says my name, and I can feel how much he really loves me.

Well, that's all for now! :)
