Somebody Wake Up Greenday, September Has Ended!

So I have been a super-slacker and not keeping up on this blog, so here's some randomness from September:

We went to visit my family for labor day, and of course my parents had a BLAST playing with Sophia - they put her in the swing hammock...

And Julie played with her...

Then we had to play with old Rusty Dog (he was a good sport...)

Then my mom helped Sophia find a pretty flower that she was very excited to show me...

See what a pretty flower? (About 2 seconds later she was eating this flower...)
Then of course we had to give Sophia a piano lesson - She sure looks like a pro!
Sophia also likes to fall asleep in silly ways - like when she fell asleep in her jumper...
And even in her crib!

And you can't see it here, but there is a HUGE drool spot under her face! I was laughing pretty hard, but luckily she was out cold! :)

She also got bigger, and learned how to stand pretty well. Here she is just looking fabulous!
She also had fun learning with her cousin Makenzi - they love learning their alphabets!

Then there was the Herriman fire which was just west of our house, so we had a nice view...

Now probably one of the most exciting things we did in September was take Sophia to her first band competition! (Yes, I'm raising her to be a nerd like me!) When the first band started playing after we got there though, she was NOT a happy camper! She about jumped out of my mom's arms, looked around with a very panicked look on her face, and then started crying and grabbing on to my mom with all her strength! It was so sad that I didn't get the camera out until the initial shock wore off - but you can still see how distraut she was! Poor girl!

My mom tried covering her ears and talking softly to her and it seemed to help.

Pretty soon she was getting pretty interested in all of those people marching around the field and all the pretty colors from the colorguards...

Then she was more than interested - she practically tried to rush the field! (Luckily she's small, so my dad just helped her jump) She was Ooohing and Awing and bouncing and smiling and laughing!

I just liked this one because of my dad. :)
See how much fun she's having? :)
Here's a picture of one of the bands we saw (American Fork who had an AMAZING show! Sorry, MC didn't do very good this time around so I didn't take their picture)

Hard to tell in this picture, but Sophia looked like she was trying to mimick the drum majors! She would stare at them and then wave her arms around with a very concentrated look on her face, then pause and stare, and then do it again. It was so cute!
We were also sitting next to a band in one of the lower classes (can't remember where they're from - they're new though) and she was having a great time flirting with the boys behind us! (They were pretty good sports about it and played right back!)

Then Brian had to put his hat on Sophia (sort of his "thing") and she was totally rocking it! Ha ha, I love the look on her face!

Then he had to put his sunglasses on her - I wish I had taken this picture but I don't have that good of timing - so stinking funny! :)

Well, even though he's goofy, Sophia sure does love her uncle Brian! :)
September was such a fun month! Without all of the stress of camping every weekend (ugh) I felt like we were able to just play and have fun more together! I wish I'd taken more pictures, but that's alright! Now that September's over I just hope that October is just as fun! :) (And hopefully the pictures here will make up for my severe lack of pictures all of last month!) :)
Be sure to comment!

That's so cute that she finally warmed up to the bands. I'm trying to raise geeks too. We try to go to at least 2 competitions each season (including the parent show)
