Okay, I've decided that when you're pregnant you make a lot of enemies. Yep, you read right, you make enemies with ones that you once thought were your safe haven. For example, up until very recently my favorite food was chips and salsa. Last week they turned on me. Jerks. Now I can't even look at the salsa without going green. Another pregnancy enemy I've made - chocolate. This has been one of the worst culprits. A few days after finding out I was pregnant, I was hungry and decided to get a Twix from the vending machines at work. I love Twix. I used to get them all the time. Well, about half way through the second candy bar, I suddenly felt like I wanted to die, and I knew instantly that it wasn't caramel and it wasn't the cookie, it was the chocolate! So I threw the rest away and tried to stay away from chocolate since then. Of course I keep trying, because I LOVE chocolate. I tried eating an Andes Mint about a week or two after the Twix incident. These are another one of my favorites. I took very small bites to see if it would work, then eventually ate the whole thing. About 10 minutes later, my stomach was trying to kill me again. Even the other day, now over a month later, I made chocolate chip cookies for my parents when they came to visit, and ate a few not thinking about that devil ingredient, and what do you think happened? Yep, once again I was curled up on my bed all night wanting to die.
Other items that have joined my enemy list are any and all fruit (including fruit flavored things), avocados/guacamole (my one time cravings for a whole week), Cafe Rio food, Club Crackers, Nilla Wafers, yogurt, some breads, turkey, most cheeses, pepperoni, marinara sauce, garlic, Panda Express, most types of chicken, pork, and probably more that I haven't discovered yet. Then of course there's things like driving and walking for any period of time that stir up the evil juices as well. Honey Nut Cheerios are still helping, they're my friends. Right now they are my best friends when it comes to neutralizing the enemies. Even my precious Filet Mignon steaks are feeling like they're going to turn south soon. I sure hope not. Between being completely ravenous to the point of digressing to a wild animal and all of my favorite foods turning to poison, I'm starting to wonder how people do this more than once. I actually started yelling at a pot of water while trying to make Mac and Cheese because it wasn't boiling fast enough for me. Silly I know, but I seriously go crazy when it comes to eating time. Just a few more weeks, then I can forget about all of this fun just like everyone else...
Anyway, this is really just a rant, but I'm mostly just upset because I didn't think that all of my favorite foods would turn against me. Another one of those pregnancy symptoms that is either underplayed or I ignored when people would talk about them. :)

haha, being preggo sounds like a blast! Congrats!
O you just crack me right up. I'm sorry that you are feeling so crappy, but the way you write about it is very amusing. Go back and read it when you're feeling better. Good luck with everything Mindy!
ha ha! I'm sorry! At least you're not actually throwing up!! But being nauseated (is that spelled right??) is almost just as bad! Hopefully it will pass soon! I didn't get over mine until I was almost 20 weeks with both of my kids. Good luck! But ice cream and cereal were always good for me too!
Mindy, you are so adorable! I love you. I really wish I had gotten to know you better in HS! And hang in there--you WILL get past this yucky stage. Believe me. It was worse when I was pregnant with Lyla than with Jack, so maybe you're incubating a girl! I wish I had some good advice for you, but really...everyone is so different when they're pregnant, so what works for one girl's morning sickness can trigger another's! Maybe my best advice would be to try some bland foods, like just a plain baked potato. Okay, that even sounds kind of gross to ME, but you never know!
lol. welcome to pregnancy life! lol. I would love it if we could skip that hole first trimester junk. But with Dante it lasted longer into my 2nd trimester too... anyway, I'm sorry you're not feeling so great, good luck finding stuff you CAN eat! That was always my problem too! :)
Lol everyone allways told me that my first 2 would be girls because I was so sick. (Especially with Zane, like almost 6 months worth...) But with Gracie I never threw up more than a couple of times. I felt great!
