Below you will see what happens when I turn my back for a few seconds. That cupboard there is my pan cupboard - thus the small sauce pan you see on the floor in front of her feet. I left the kitchen for a moment to check on something, and when I came back I could hear Sophie saying "Go outside. Go outside, okay", so I looked and this is what I saw! This is the first time she's climbed into the cupboard, much less tried to shut herself in! :)
(Please understand that her face is always messy like this...because she's 2.) :)
Next, she saw that I was making cookies, and she decided to help. How did she help? Well, she pulled out this other pan and started saying "Cook cake! Cook cake, Sophie!" and then kept trying to put the pan (with her cookie in it) on the stove. Or she would grab my oven mitt and put it on, then push me back or to the side so I was clear of the oven and say "Stay. Okay? Stay. It's hot." This is what I tell her when I open the oven, so she has it down pretty good. (Don't worry, she didn't actually open the oven ever!)
After "cooking" it was time to look out the windows. Realize that at this time it was dark out, and there are some bushes in front of our front window that need trimming, so she really couldn't see anything, but that didn't stop her! She actually made me look out of the square next to her (she called that square "Mama window" and her's "Sophie window"), but I was able to sneak away for a quick picture. :) The whole time she jabbered on (in whispers and hushed tones) and pointed at the imaginary things that were out there and told me which ones were scary. It was very educational. :)
Then, she just kept rushing the camera and laughing at the flash. Yes, she looks completely psychotic, but I still love this face!
Now I personally still had a rough day (I dropped the lid to my sugar container and it shattered!) but overall I still had a ton of fun with Sophie and Jon. :)
Jon helped Sophie to spin the fan - this was her favorite game of the night!
And just to really show off the mood of the night - here's one of Jon making his "scary" face. Ha ha ha, oh man I love this guy!
I love my family so much, and I'm so glad that no matter how crazy in my head I get, they are always here to lift me up and make me smile. Can't wait to add our little Ninja to the crew! :)
