My Sister

So I know that I said that my next post would be pictures of Sophia - but I changed my mind, which I have every right to do considering that this is my blog. :) Anyway, I just wanted to have a post dedicated to my sister Julie! She wrote a little poem for me on Facebook and it was just so darn sweet that I had to share and let everyone know what a great sister I have. :) Also it's her birthday this month and so it just seemed like good timing. :)

For all the times i hurt you and didn't say "I'm sorry" For all the times I should have said I love you, but I didn't, I'm sorry. For all the times you had to put up with me, I'm sorry. For all the times you hated me, I'm sorry. For all the times we should have spent more time together, but didn't. I'm sorry. For all the times we wanted to strangle each other growing up, I'm sorry.

For all the times we cherished together and shared the best times together. There is nothing better while growing up than being able to share it with your sister, even if at times you want to wring each other's necks.
~Julie McGee

My sister is the greatest. Even though we may have fought a bunch when we were kids, (Hey! We were kids for crying out loud!) she's always been there for me, whether it was to kill nasty bugs for me, scare off bullies for me or even tell me when I'm being dumb! :) She's always been a great example, and I can honestly say that when she was in the Marines serving her tours over in Iraq and Kuwait it was the scariest time in my life because the thought of losing her, or of her being hurt or scared was terrifying to me and I would just cry at night worrying about whether or not she was okay. I'm so proud of her for all she's done, and so so so very happy that she was kept safe while serving our country. I'm also very happy that she's done with the Marines as well. :) In my family we never really say "I love you" to each other, but I've never doubted that she loved me and I hope that she's never doubted that I love her.

Julie you're the best older sister ever and I love you! :)
